    Due to poor quality of the variable valve timing system retaining bolts, over time the bolts may loosen or the head may break, causing oil to leak from those areas. In such cases, the camshaft may not rotate according to the designed values, triggering the engine warning light and warning messages, and there is a possibility that the engine safety mode may be activated. (*Activation of the engine safety mode may reduce output. If the engine stops while driving, immediately stop driving, get out of the vehicle, and contact BMW Mobility Care at 080-269-0001.)
