It has been discovered that a software setting error related to the Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) may cause an electrical overload in the 48V electrical system. In this case, a short circuit to ground may occur in the 12V circuit of the DC/DC converter, which may cause the 12V electrical system to discharge and the battery warning light to illuminate on the instrument panel (IPC).
